Elizabeth Anne Grubb, CMT, NCTMB, BA, is the president, shepardess/director, and inspirational breath and founder of Health Options Institute. She has been teaching various classes in massage and holistic health since 1983.  She currently teaches Deep Muscle Massage, Nutrition and Herbs, Claiming Your Ground, and Circles of Life.

Elizabeth is also a dynamic public speaker and facilitator for women seeking self development. Her main topics are "From Sub-Clinical Anorexia to Innate Fearless Eating", and "The Empowered Woman: "Manifesting Your Career Dreams!"

Her bodywork training includes: Shiatsu with Laila Wah, Anatomy & Physiology, Neuromuscular Therapy with Paul St. John, Reiki I and II with Reverend Beth Gray and Reiki I, II, and III with Reverend Susan Gideonse, Polarity with the Kripalu Center, Reflexology with the International Institute of Reflexology, Sports Massage with Rich Phaigh, Cranial Sacral Therapy with Colorado Cranial Institute and with Merry Witty, Wetzig Coordination Patterns, Body Electronics with John Ray and Robert Stevens, Hanna Somatics with Carol Welsh-Baril, Nuat Thai® with Kat Bartel, Touch for Health at the Center for Human Integration, Hot Stone Massage with Lisa Helbig and Randy Christman, Stretch Rehab, and Twining Structural Balancing. She is a Nationally Certified Massage Therapist.

Her holistic health training includes Nutrition with the Wild Rose College of Natural Healing, the Perfect Health Foundation, John Ray and Dr. Donsbach; and Functional Nutrition with Steve Chagnon.  Her Herbology training was through the Wild Rose College and Evelyn Snook; Wild Foods with Evelyn Snook, and Deborah and Steve Hoog; Flower Essences with Jennifer Tucker; Iridology with the Wild Rose College, John Ray and Robert Stevens; and Homeopathy with the Himalayan Institute and Robin Murphy.

Elizabeth has over 4000 hours of training and experience doing Dorothy Espiau's Circles of Life, Solutions, Interventions and Alternatives which are the main modalities she currently practices. Her additional counseling and mind/body training include Gestalt Therapy with Ute Arnold, Boundary Setting and Healing from the Core with Suzanne Scurlock-Durana, Continuum with Susan Harper and Emilie Conrad, Voice Dialogue with Hal Stone and Sidra Winkleman, and the Forum with Landmark Education.  She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Psychology from Temple University in 1979, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude, third in her class of 3,000.

 

Caroline Bayard, REV, LLC, DNT, CA, CR, CNHP, AHSP,  who is the main instructor for Reflexology, has lectured, taught seminars and assisted people in their healing work and growth throughout the United States, the Virgin Islands, Canada, Mexico, and Europe since 1969.  She has extensive training in numerous alternative healing modalities.  As the director and founder of the Northeast Holistic Center in New Jersey, Caroline has developed 3 extensive Reflexology Certification Programs ranging from 125 hours to 643 Hour Program hours.  She is an Ordained Minister.

 

Donna Booke, EMT, who teaches CPR and AED, is an Emergency Medical Technician who has been teaching First Aid and CPR for adults, children, and infants since 1994.

 

Randall Christman, CMT, who teaches Hot Stone Massage, specializes in using massage, hot stones, and energy work to bring peace and balance to the body, mind, and spirit.  He has been practicing since 1990.  He is a graduate of the Florida School of Massage with over 1000 hours of certified training.  He additionally has 350 hours of massage teacher training at the Arizona School of Integrated Studies in Sedona.  Since 1993, Randall moved to Sedona and has worked at noted resorts and healing spas, giving over 2000 massages and another 643 Hour Program hot stone massage.  He has worked with many well known healers, shamans, and mystics in the southwest and also Brazil.

 

Cheryl Dietrich, A.A.S.,  is the Office Manager and an Admissions Recruiter. She updates our promotional literature, course notes, and website. She also provides information about classes to potential students and personalizes individual class schedules. She is also in charge of financial assistance with Sallie Mae loans, OVR, and the Veteran's Administration.

 

Diane Majka Grandstrom, RN, BSN, CCRN, who teaches Aromatherapy, is a Critical Care RN who has published and spoken extensively on health issues, including producing and moderating ''Your Health Today,'' a local cable TV talk show for five years.  Her personal quest for softer environments in Intensive Care Units led her to coordinate an enormously successful Holistic Health Awareness Fair and ultimately Aromatherapy!  She has developed her own line of essential oil products and opened her own Aromatherapy business in Reading in 1994, to promote public awareness of the joyful art and science of Aromatherapy.  In 2001 Diane serendipitously provided aromatherapy to One Police Plaza, one week after the World Trade Center tragedy.  Her soul soothing scents for cancer patients were featured in the February 2003 Prevention Magazine.

 

Jason-Cristofe Marcello, REV, A.H.S.P., who acts as both a main and assistant instructor for Reflexology, has lectured, taught seminars and assisted people in their healing work and growth throughout the United States, the Virgin Islands, and Western Europe since 1978.  He possesses extensive education including a 400 hour certification in Clinical Reflexology from the Northeast Holistic Center.  He is an Ordained Minister. He has been teaching reflexology since 1995.

 

Tania Horne, CMT, NCTMB, teaches Deep Muscle Massage, Anatomy & Physiology: Level I, and Cancer Massage. She is a graduate of the Massage Therapy Program at Health Options Institute, a nationally certified massage therapist, and a member of the ABMP.  Additionally, she is certified in Healing Touch, Hot Stone Massage, Lomi Lomi Massage, Lymphatic Drainage Massage, and Cancer/Mastectomy/Hospice/Terminal Illness Bodywork.  She has worked in several settings over the years, including in a medical massage center, a chiropractic center, and in a spa resort. Currently she works as the head massage therapist at the Deerfield Spa and in her own private practice. She specializes in cancer massage.

 

Grace M. Kelley, M.Ed., NCC, who teaches Polarity, holds a Master’s Degree in Counseling and certifications as a Polarity Wellness Educator/Practitioner.  She has 16 years of professional training and experience providing counseling services.  She has incorporated Polarity in her professional work for the past 10 years.   

 

Patricia Morrison, CMT, LLCC, who teaches Sports Massage:  American/European and Russian/American, Lymphatic Drainage Therapy, and Lypossage and who assistant teaches Orthopedic Neuromuscular Therapy, has been practicing extensively since 1992, and is a member of the ABMP.  She has an RN degree from Northampton County Community College and is a graduate of the Massage Therapy Program at Health Options Institute. She is a Five Star Trainer / Practitioner of Lypossage. Additionally, she has advanced certifications in Lymphatic Drainage Therapy and has continuing education in Orthopedic Massage (sports related) from Omeri, Wetzig Coordination Patterns, Cranial Sacral Therapy, Medical Setting Massage, Sports Massage, Feldenkrais, Lymphatic Lymphedema Complex Decongestive Physiotherapy, Visceral Manipulation, Zero Balancing and Circles of Life.  She has worked with several area chiropractors, biofeedback psychologists, medical doctors, and in salons, as well as in her own very successful private practice. She specializes in Lypossage (body contouring massage) and in helping pre and post operative patients of cancer surgery and plastic surgery recuperate using Lymphatic Drainage Therapy.

 

Jennifer Petrilla, CMT, who supervises our student clinic, is the assistant manager for Laurel Spa at Pocono Manor and supervises a staff of 29 massage therapists. She is in charge of hiring and training the massage therapists who work for the spa. Additionally, she also performs massage and body treatments at the spa. She is a graduate of the Massage Therapy Program at Health Options Institute and has additional education in Hot Stone Massage. She is a member of the ABMP.

 

Nancy M. Porambo, LMT, NCTMB, BA, MS, CNMT, who teaches Professional Practice Concepts, Client Communication Skills, and Spa Basics, has operated a successful Neuromuscular Therapy practice in Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania since 1990.  She holds a degree in business management and has authored the practice building book Professional Practice Concepts, which she incorporates into her business/ethics class.  She has a Master's degree in Clinical Health Psychology from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine.  She was recently honored with the "Teacher of the Year" award from Lehigh Carbon Community College, where she teaches psychology to honor students receiving college credits while still attending high school.  She is currently the president of the American Massage Therapy Association, PA chapter, and is quite active on the Pennsylvania massage licensure committee.  Her extensive experience coupled with formal training serves to guide the therapist toward the development of a successful career in massage therapy.

 

Michelle Radcliffe, CMT, NCTMB, who teaches Orthopedic Neuromuscular Therapy, is a Nationally Certified Massage Therapist and a member of the American Massage Therapy Association. She is a graduate of the Somerset School of Massage Therapy with Neuromuscular Therapy Certification (Janet Travell's Method). She also completed a two year Fitness specialist Certificate program at the Raritan Valley Community College. She has been specializing in Neuromuscular Therapy in her own private practice in Bethlehem Township, Pa. since 2000. She has additional training in advanced myofascial massage, medical massage, pain management, sports massage, lymph drainage massage, facial massage, hot stone massage, and raindrop therapy.

 

Karen Reifinger, REV, RM, SP, CMT, who teaches Lomi-Lomi Temple Style Bodywork, spent many years of private study and practice in the healing arts, and then pursued and received her certification in Integrated Bodywork in 2000 in Pennsylvania. She is a certified practitioner and instructor of Lomi Lomi: Hawaiian Temple Bodywork, and a certified practitioner of Kahuna Lapa'au and Huna Mua. Karen promotes self-empowerment and self healing using an eclectic blend of traditional modalities and practices of world culture. She continues to deepen her education in traditional Hawaiian healing through training and travel in the Hawaiian Islands. Her unique teaching style inspires students to embrace their full potential for transformation and profound growth.

 

Jason Rinker, LAc., BS, MA, who teaches Shiatsu, is a licensed Acupuncturist who received his Bachelors of Science from Bastyr University and his Masters in Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine from Northwest Institute of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in Seattle, WA. He has been licensed with the PA state board of Medicine since 1999. He has lived and studied in Shanghai China at Shugan Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine. He also practices Vipassana meditation and viyasa yoga. His passion for the synthesis of Modern day medicine and Traditional therapies has spanned over 15 years.

 

Linda Rose, CMT, who teaches Seated Chair Massage, provides weekly on site corporate massage at Agere Systems and Air Products.  She has done contract on site chair massage for companies such as:  GMAC, Brown Daub, and Sterner Insurance.  Additionally, she has a private practice in the Allentown area.  To her teaching she brings a degree in Business Economics and a strong sales background so she can give strong pointers to students as to how to get them contracted with a corporation.  Additionally, Linda’s academic background includes extensive studies in Shiatsu as well as Deep Muscle Massage, Anatomy and Physiology, and Neuromuscular Therapy.

 

Kim Santos, CMT, who is a main instructor and an assistant instructor for Deep Muscle Massage and who supervises the student clinic, is a graduate of the Institute's Massage Therapy Program and Secretary for the Lehigh Valley Chapter of the AMTA. Additionally she has training in Medical Massage, Hot Stone Massage, and Cancer, HIV, AIDS Massage. She has experience working in the following settings: gym, chiropractic, nursing home, salon and spa, and in her own successful private practice.

 

Dr. Richard V. Simeone, DC, CCSP, DACBR, who teaches Practice Procedures and Policies, has been in private practice since 1983. He is a graduate of New York Chiropractic College. He is a Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician and is a Diplomat in Rehabilitation and Disability and Impairment Ratings. He has extensive training in Low Speed Rear Impact Collisions and is a Collision Reconstruction Consultant. He has been an expert witness in automobile and worker's compensation injuries for many years. He has over the years incorporated Massage Therapists in the treatment of musculoskeletal injuries as part of his clinical practice. He has developed this course in response to a need he has observed in his office when interviewing and training Massage Therapists. He is presently a member of the Health Options Institute advisory board.

 

Dr. Robert F. Swift Jr., DC, BA, BS, MA, who teaches Anatomy & Physiology Levels I & II, and Iridology, holds degrees in Biology, Psychology, Philosophy, and Chiropractic, is a professional bodybuilding trainer, and musician incorporating Music-Sound-Vibration work into his holistic chiropractic practice.  He began professionally in 1982 by training partially limbed gym personnel whom no one else could help.  These included Vietnam veterans who needed on the spot assessment of limitations, deciphering true mechanical challenges from both perceived physical limits and psychological/emotional limits, and impromptu use of available materials for strapping, supporting, and stabilizing limbs or trunk in order to use existing equipment.  This “thinking beyond mere protocol” approach is evident in every course, workshop, and lecture he does.  Some of his teachers include Dr. Bernard Jensen (Iridology), Dr. Robert Thompson (Herbology), William Wolcott (Metabolic Typing Nutrition), Gurucharan Sing Kalsa (Kundalini Yoga & AK), Fr. Thomas Berry (History of World Religions and the Ecosphere), and Jonathan Goldman (Vocal Toning/Harmonics).  He has been practicing holistic health since 1975 and using Iridology since 1978.

 

Mora Vivona, REV, who is an assistant instructor for Reflexology, is director of the HIV/AIDS Programs and Complementary Alternative Medicine Therapies for the Northeast Holistic Center.  She possesses extensive education including a 400 hour certification in Clinical Reflexology from the Northeast Holistic Center.  She is an ordained minister and has been teaching both reflexology and holistic health since 2000.
