LYMPHATIC DRAINAGE: Level I (16 HOURS)

Prerequisite: Deep Muscle Massage and Anatomy & Physiology I

This is an intensive two day introduction into the fundamentals of lymphatic drainage therapy.  Lymphatic drainage therapy can alleviate conditions such as swelling (edemas) of many origins.  By activating lymphatic fluid circulation, it detoxifies, rejuvenates, and assists in regeneration of body tissues. It also has been effective for stimulating the immune system to improve chronic infections and inflammation such as sinusitis, acne, chronic fatigue syndrome, allergies, to alleviate chronic pain, to minimize complications of surgeries, and for cosmetic applications to minimize scars and wrinkles.

On completion of the class, there are multiple levels to follow.  These levels cover the superficial lymphatics of the face and full body, deep lymphatic drainage pathways and edemas, working with the various structures of the body, scar therapy and practical application of manual lymphatic techniques in managing tissue trauma and injury recovery.  Additionally, indications and contraindications for special populations (i.e.: lymphedema) are covered.

Upon receipt of your registration deposit (required to hold a spot), you will be given a list of key terms to become familiar with and a short take home study guide to help prepare for this introductory course.  Students will receive a certificate of completion indicating 16 hours.

LYPOSSAGE (32 HOURS)

Prerequisite: Anatomy & Physiology: Level I

Lypossage is a body contouring treatment that helps cleanse the body of toxins and retained fluids.  While results vary, cumulative dimension loss over 5 key measurement points averaged 6.75 inches in the original study after completion of eighteen 30 minute sessions.  Most women will find they drop one or two dress sizes without a reduction in their weight.  Lypossage cleanses the body of stagnant, stalled lymphatic fluid (Lymphedema) that can create the lumps and bulges we know as figure imbalance.  The deeper Lypossage strokes break up adhesions under the skin that can contribute to the dimpled, uneven appearance of cellulite.  Lypossage also tones the muscles, lifting and firming sagging tissue.  Lypossage is performed on the lower body including the buttocks, hips, thighs and abdomen, as well as the upper body including the arms, face, neck and head.

Students will receive a certificate of completion indicating 32 hours on completion of the 4 day course and will be able to practice Lypossage on clients.  Students who wish to be certified as a Lypossage therapist and to be placed on the Lypossage website for free advertising need to provide the following:  documentation of the completion of zones 1, 2, and 3 of their test subject(s) including photograph(s), proof of malpractice insurance, and a copy of a transcript showing graduation from a 500 hour or longer massage therapy program or an aesthetician license.  Class size is limited to 14 students.  This class will fill up quickly, so register immediately!

LOMI LOMI TEMPLE STYLE BODYWORK: Module I (16 Continuing Education hours)

Lomi Lomi is a flowing, nurturing and deep form of Hawaiian massage based on an ancient shamanic rite of passage. It is designed to reawaken the body to its divine connection with Spirit. This sacred practice incorporates movement, breath, dance, and self care with the power of intention and presence. Honoring the body as a Temple of the Soul, this massage is a transformative experience to free the body of long held stress patterns, using deep and gentle rhythmic strokes of the facilitator’s forearms...connecting the giver and receiver in a beautiful “dance”.  These strokes create an immense outpouring of energy, and help to lull the recipient into a deep meditative state of bliss.  The two-day workshops are an experiential exploration into Hawaiian Temple Bodywork.  Level I participants learn principles of sacred healing  & sacred touch, hand-saving forearm techniques on the back of the body, ceremonial and clinical application, and the flowing breath inspired dance of this ancient art, plus more.  The workshops invite you to journey into your heart, connect with your spirit, and further discover your unique healing gifts.  A certificate of completion is received.

CLAIMING YOUR GROUND: Level I (7 hours) and Level II (7 hours)

Activities: Guided grounding meditations, spontaneous movement explorations, breathing exercises, individual facilitation and coaching using personalized affirmations. Please bring a mat or quilt for floor activities. Wear relaxing clothes that are easy to move in and breathe in.

Benefits: The grounding meditations create a sense of safety and joy in the body. Due to this container of safety and joy a person can re-own parts of their body/mind which they formerly disassociated. They become more of their true authentic self. Past traumatic events/emotions which were not originally safe to integrate become integrated. The grounding meditations are deeply relaxing, and bring an acute level of conscious presence into the NOW as well as personal growth. The exercises will allow us to be more aware of the world around us while allowing us to stay centered within ourselves at the same time. We will establish a greater connection to SOURCE, which will allow us to experience a sense of security and control regardless of events that are happening around us.

This workshop reclaims the authentic self. It increases clarity, personal empowerment, self-worth, and brings healing. In level II, students will also gain experience in holding a safe space for another to heal.
